Ayurveda foundation signs MoU with university

N Rama Varier Ayurveda Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alagappa University for establishing research collaboration.
Dr Ramesh R. Varier, Managing Director, NRAF, signed the MoU with Sanjeev Kumar Singh of the Department of Bioinformatics in the presence of N. Rajendran, Vice-Chancellor, here on Tuesday. Prof. Singh said the collaboration would be helpful in developing novel inhibitors and provide thrust to the students about the identification of lead molecules.
Mr Varier said the collaboration would take research activities in Alagappa University to the next level and help secure patent for the lead molecules identified by Prof Singh. NRAF was a non-profit wing of the AVN group and it was actively engaged in research, development and training, he said.
AVN Arogya Ayurvedic Hospital was established in Madurai in 1930 by renowned Ayurvedic Physician Arya Vaidyan N. Rama Varier and NRAF was created with the objective of promoting research and education in the field of Ayurveda, he said. Dr. Suresh Govindan, Research Head and Dr Shenbagarathai, Senior Scientist of NRAF, were present.
