Ayurveda is considered as one of the oldest healthcare systems, and today the Ayurveda industry is witnessing an incredible growth. According to a report by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Ayurveda sector in India is projected to record a compounded annual growth rate of a robust 16 % until 2025.
Whether its products or services, the industry is gaining popularity in every vertical. Talking specifically about the beauty and wellness side of Ayurveda, the markers of such products today are extensively using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to deliver a class apart experience and results to the consumer. Experts believe that today, things have become easier and more possible for makers to curate personalized beauty products.
Artificial intelligence can be used to take into account data such as personal allergies, medical condition, past history, past treatments and current treatments, country, climate, skin colour, ethnic background etc. The data is collected using an online form that the customer can fill in. Once the data part is done, the customised product is then made available online. According to Shahnaz Husain, Founder, Chairperson & Managing Director, Shahnaz Husain Group Prakriti has an effect on our ailments and also influences the methods that are selected for recovery. A frontrunner in adoption of AI in creating personalised beauty and wellness products, Hussain has also said that scientists have studied and have done research on the molecules of Ayurvedic ingredients to create databases and relate them to the different categories of “Prakriti” – i.e. the doshas and the combinations of doshas.
“Ayurvedic data can be fed into computer programmes to help identify the “Dosha” and allow selection of Ayurvedic medicines or beauty products accordingly. It would not only help Beauty and Wellness companies to manufacture customised products but also help to cater to individual beauty needs instead of generic solutions for a particular skin type.” said Shahnaz Hussain.
