A later experimental study was conducted in acute and chronic inflammation using Carrageenan-induced paw edema and cotton pellet granuloma pouch method in acute and chronic inflammatory study, respectively. The data were analyzed statistically using a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by multiple comparison Dunnett’s test as a post hoc test. The results indicate the presence of significant anti-inflammatory activity in the experimental model representing acute inflammation and non-significant effect in chronic inflammation. But there is a decrease in the granuloma formation, which suggests that Murivenna can be given in granulomacondition. Murivenna retains anti-inflammatory activity in acute inflammation than in chronic.
In  Ayurveda  classics   Achilles  tendinopathy  condition  can  be  correlated with Snayugata vata and it can be managed with Sneha parisheka  followed  by  Bandhana  karma .  In  Sushruta Samhita this  traumatic  injury (Kshataja Vrana) in which Vata Dosha aggravates hence should  be  managed  with  Sneha-pana,  Parishek, Veshavara,  Krishara,  Snigdha-Upanaha,  Dhanya-Sweda,  Snigdha-Aalepa  etc.  are indicated.  In  Snayu or Sandhigata vata  treatments  like  Sneha-Upanaha, Agnikarma,  Bandhana,  Mardana  are  indicated. Traditional practitioner of Kerala use Murivenna oil as a drug  of  choice  for  Abhigataj shool  in  the  form  of external  application.  It  is  mainly  practiced  for  the management  of  Sandhi  Mukta,  Sadyovrana,  Dagdha Vranas,  Bhagna  and  Shopha.  Murivenna  oil  is  an Anubhuta Yoga  that  is  mentioned  in  Pharmacopeia  of Govt. Ayurveda  college pharmacy  Trivandrum, Kerala. There are so many preparations  with the same name  –Murivenna  in  Tamil  Marma  Shastra.  This  herbal  oil preparation is  used in  the form of Dhara,  Pichu, Taila-droni and Bandhana. So considering this Murivenna oil was used the management  of soft  tissue injury w.s.r. to Achillis tendinopathy and found very effective. Murivenna oil Parisheka is the method of pouring the oil on  affected part  from  10 inch  distance  for 10  minute. A surgically planned incision on the perineum and the posterior vaginal wall during the second stage of labor is called episiotomy (Perineotomy).Episiotomy wound care should be start immediately after suturing the wound in order to reduce pain and inflammation. The surgical wound of episiotomy can be considered as Sadyo Vrana. Different treatment modalities have been told in Ayurveda for Vrana Chikitsa. Drugs having Shodhana and Ropana qualities are essential for healing. In this research study total 30 patients were registered and treated in two groups, group A with application of Jatyadi Taila on episiotomy wound after Ushna Jala Parisheka as a standard control group and Group B with application of Murivenna after Ushna Jala Parisheka as a trial group. Encouraging results were observed in Murivenna. Study emerges that Murivenna possess better pain relieving and tenderness diminishing properties.
In Ayurveda classics acharya Susrutha deals thetreatment aspect of bhagna in chikitsasthana. The main principle of fracture treatment is Bhagnasthapana (reduction), Bhagnasthireekarana(retention), and Punercheshtapracharam (rehabilitataion). Before going to sthapanopayas first reduce the local swelling and inflammation by alepana and parisheka. This will help to reduce the inflammation developed over the area. Acharya susrutha has also advocated the principles of reducing the fracture. They are Anchana (Traction),Peedana and Samkshepana (Manipulative reduction) and Bandhana (Immobilization), which are practiced regularly even today. The main objective of a fracture care should be to give a better management by promoting the proper healing without forming any deformity and make a fully functioning part within a limited period of time with maximum rest.4 After proper reduction, immobilization is practiced using proper bandaging techniques. Different types of splint made from bark of trees like Bamboo, Ficus, Arjuna tree etc can be used for retention purpose. The materials which are used for vranabandhana (wound care) can be used for bandaging the fracture. In traditional fracture healing practice of Kerala, splinted bandage with murivenna oil has been in use for the same purpose. The present study concluded that splinted bandage with murivenna has shown encouraging result on the case of Colles fracture by providing relief to symptoms like pain, tenderness, swelling and also improved range of movement of wrist joint when compared to the application of plaster of paris.

Improper sitting postures, traveling, use of two wheeler and sports activities are few important causes.10% of this is because of lumbar spondylosis which is correlated with Katishool in Ayurveda. As Katiis the most probable area affected in this disease, Katibasti was the procedure selected and 10 patients were treated for a period of 8 days. MurivennaTaila was the drug taken for the trial, as it is Vatashamak and the vyadhiadhisthan is Vatasthan.Highly significant results and improvement in cardinal symptoms of Katishool was observed. It also seems improvement in range of movements and pain intensity. This procedure also proved good clinical improvement in pacifying pure Vataja or Vatakaphaja type of Katishool.
Integrated treatment approach for common sports injuries has given significant results in the parameters like pain, swelling, loss of function, tenderness, local temperature, manual muscle testing and range of motions of wrist, knee and ankle joint.
